Once I discovered muscovado sugar, I just HAD to try it in chocolate chip cookies. These cookies are more chewy, molassessy and delicious! The recipe is my personal preferred variation on Nestle Toll House's original recipe, which remains a standard favorite. Here's my variation:
2 1/4 cups + 2 T all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed dark muscovado sugar
1 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 cups Nestle Toll House semi-sweet chocolate morsels
Preheat oven to 375ºF.
Combine flour, baking soda & salt in a small bowl. Mix butter, sugars and vanilla extract in large bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Gradually mix in flour mixture. Stir in morsels.
Bake for 9-11 minutes.
