When our Cuisinart Classic Waffle Maker stopped working on me (after very little use to begin with), I started shopping for a waffle iron for the first time in many years. I landed on the Presto Flipside Belgian Waffle Maker and have since been mildly obsessed with waffles. Along with it, I bought Wyatt Hayes’ waffle cookbook “My Presto Flipside Belgian Waffle Maker Cookbook,” and I have yet to be disappointed by any of his recipes. Not sure I had ever made waffles from scratch before, and now I doubt I will ever use a mix again. His waffle recipes give the specifications for making perfect waffles every time with the Presto Flipside, but of course you can make delicious waffles using his recipes in any waffle iron!
In honor of Easter today, I tried his Strawberry Short-Waffles. There are fresh strawberries mixed in to the batter. Yum! My family loved them. They’re not nearly as buttery as shortcake, so these definitely won’t replace strawberry shortcake for me, but there were perfect for an Easter Brunch dessert.
